INFOGRAPHIC: The History Of Microsoft Technology

Everybody likes to bash Microsoft and Windows but it is obvious that they have around for a very long time. There software is installed as default on every new computer or laptop(whether you like it or not). Can you tell me a person that knows nothing about Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.

Despite the fact that Linux is trying hard to break Bill Gates' stronghold on computers, there are still high chances that when you enter a shop to buy a PC, it is going to have the latest version of Windows or Office on it.
Another thing is that Windows is an operating system that is very easy to use, no need of instruction manual. "Even your granny can use it".
Today's infographic courtesy of  visual.ly shows the evolution of Microsoft and the technology they have given us over the years, when Bill Gates and Paul Allen formed Microsoft way back 1975 even before I was born and with windows 1.0 out after a decade. Today we are on windows 8 despite the ferocious competition from Cupertino.
Let us know what you think of the infographic in the comments.  Are you old enough to remember some of these really old events?  What would you say was Microsoft’s defining moment in the infographic’s timeline?
